*** The Bee's Knees is a NEW weekly feature. Every Friday we'll spin the current #1 song in the BumbleBee Radio Top-10 on Radio Indie Alliance. This week's Bee's Knees entry is "Kalopsia (Alive In The Catacombs)" by Queens Of The Stone Age.
"Alive In The Catacombs" was a live performance from Queens Of The Stone Age recorded in the catacombs underneath Paris, France in July of 2024. A concert film and audio recording of the performance were released earlier this year. With no audience to speak of think of this along the lines of Pink Floyd's 1972 concert film "Live At Pompeii." The song "Kalopsia" was originally released on the 2013 Queens Of The Stone Age album, "Like Clockwork." The word "kalopsia" is derived from ancient Greek and refers to the delusion of things being more beautiful than they actually are. Listen to the song on the QOTSA YouTube channel, learn more about the concert film on their website, and hear "Kalopsia" right here on BumbleBee Radio! Autumn at Connors Farm:
Autumn is upon us and that means things are in high-gear at Connors Farm on Rte 35 in Danvers. It's pick-your-own-apples season and due to some unusual Summer weather there are also still plenty of local peaches to be had! The corn maze, food booths, and other fun stuff for the kids are open out back. All this and apple cider donuts made fresh daily. Get there early and get a donut HOT as it comes off the machine. There's nothing like it!
