Kristen Eck's 2019 30/30 Countdown: 12/5/2019 #27
Updated: Dec 7, 2019

We’ve reached #27 in the 2019 30/30 Countdown! On the Favorite-30 we find Long Beach, California indie rock band Cold War Kids. They’ve been around since 2004 and last month released their 7th studio album entitled, “New Age Norms.” They’ll be here in Boston at House of Blues early next year on Feb. 1st. Have a listen to the song, “Complainer.”

As we continue with the Anniversary-30 Countdown, you may notice a few classic-rock artists sneaking-in along with the alternative-rock. There were a few albums with milestone anniversaries just too big to ignore. That said, I’ve also included some huge jazz albums as well. So get ready for that!

The Police released their 2nd LP, “Reggatta de Blanc” in October of 1979, making it 40-years-old this year! Despite being signed to a major label contract with A&M Records, the band paid their own recording-costs (with the money they made from their 1978 debut LP, "Outlandos d'Amour,") and retained creative control over the music. Let’s go with the second single, “Walking On The Moon.” It comes in at #27. Happy listening! -Kristen
