It's another dreary weekend here in New England. I sense a trip out to the record store may be in-order to lift my spirits. Friday is usually the big day for new releases and we have a bunch just out that have caught my eye
The first is from Local Natives. They’re a five-piece band out Los Angeles with three singers that often harmonize with each other. You can catch them here in Boston on May 30th at The Paradise along with Middle Kids. “Violet Street” is the 4th album from Local Natives out now on Loma Vista. Let's give the song, “When Am I Gonna Lose You” a spin!
London Musical collective U.N.K.L.E. started off as a trip-hop collaboration between James Lavelle & DJ Shadow back in 1998. The lineup and sound has shifted since then, including numerous collaborators and guests including Thom Yorke and Josh Homme from Queens Of The Stone Age.
“The Road: Part II / Lost Highway” is the seventh studio release from U.N.K.L.E. just out on Friday on James Lavelle's Songs for the Def label. It’s a triple album, so I’ll be listening for a bit, but I’ll give you a little taste of it now with the track, “Ar.Mour.” It’s just been added to the Knock Knock New Music playlist. Happy listening! -Kristen
