Happy Saturday! Hope you had a great week and Valentine's Day. I made myself a scallops & mussels Fra Diavlo and had a carrot cake Whoopie pie from the Topsfield Bakeshop. All of it was very delicious! As we get the weekend underway I have a new song for the
Knock Knock: New Music playlist.
Back on Friday February 8th, a friend of mine and I decided, at the last minute to buy some tickets to see Sharon Van Etten at Royale Nightclub in Boston. She's an indie rock/folk singer songwriter based out of Brooklyn, New York. Born and raised in New Jersey, she learned violin, piano, and clarinet before taking-up the guitar, and also sang in a choir-group in high school.
Van Etten had released five previous albums, before a new single entitled, "Comeback Kid" appeared in October of 2018 with word of a forthcoming album. That LP is entitled "Remind Me Tomorrow" and was released last month on January 18th. Clocking-in at 41-minutes over ten tracks, this sixth release is a very impressive effort from Van Etten and is among my favorite records of the year so far.
Her live show at Royale in Boston (which was my first concert of 2019) was phenomenal and her performance of this song (which she dedicated to her sister, who was in-attendance) almost blew the roof-off the joint. It's called "Seventeen" and it's just been added to the Knock Knock: New Music playlist. Happy listening! -Kristen
