Greetings and welcome to Week-2 of the 31-Days of Halloween! Today we say Happy Birthday to actress Sigourney Weaver, who played Ellen Ripley in the terrifying "Alien" movies, as well as Dana Barrett in the first two "Ghostbusters" movies (she returned as a minor character in the third movie in 2016.) She turns 69 today. It's interesting to note on this Columbus Day, that she also played Queen Isabella of Castile in Ridley Scott's 1992 film, "1492: Conquest of Paradise."
In celebration of Sigourney's birthday let's turn to the soundtrack from the 1985 film, "Ghostbusters," for a tune from Elmer Bernstein. He composed music scores for a slew of movies including "The Magnificent Seven,""To Kill a Mockingbird,""Cape Fear," and "Animal House." His main title theme to "Ghostbusters" should be instantly recognizable to anyone who grew-up loving this film. It's waiting for you to enjoy now on the 31-Days of Halloween playlist. Happy listening! -Kristen
